Denby Chevron – Gill Pemberton

Denby Chevron Coffee set

Denby Chevron become very popular in the 1960s and went out of production early 1970s. Gill Pemberton designed Chevron in 1961 and there are over 70 items in the range. The stoneware pieces are glazed a soft matt olive colour and are decorated with horizontal bands of the chevron pattern.

Denby Chevron is an absolute favourite design of ours. If we had to choose our preferred piece would be the very tall coffee pot that is so sculptural in design.

Gill Pemberton produced work for the Langley Pottery, her designs include Mayflower, Sherwood, Canterbury and Chatsworth. At Denby she produced, Arabesque [ 962] and Rondo. She worked with Glyn Colledge on; Gypsy, Troubadour, Minstral and Romany.  In the 1970’s Gill designed the Renaissance Collection, including Castile, Seville and Venice and patterned designs Avignon, Lorraine and Verona.

Gill is still working today and can be found on both Facebook and Twitter.
